On the first day of the new year, President Russell M. Nelson took to social media to extend an invitation for 2025: “come to the temple as often as your circumstances allow.”
He stated that, through our experiences we have in the temple, “we are strengthened to achieve our New Year’s resolutions.” This strength comes from Jesus Christ as make and keep sacred covenants and learn of Him and His gospel.
President Nelson cited his study of “The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles” as something that “increases [his] desire, every day, to be more like Him.”
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the landmark document, and President Nelson is one of four living Apostles today who signed the testimony. Many people have commented on the impact of these Apostolic words, with one Instagram user writing:
“It brings me a thrill every time I repeat the sacred words from this inspired document. I memorized it over 10 years ago, like so many others have said on here. It has proved a safe haven of mental retreat many times over the years and continues to inspire me to learn more about Our Savior and be more like Him, too. ... Thank you for sharing this priceless gift.”
Another social media user shared on Facebook:
“I memorized The Living Christ several years ago. I’m not exaggerating when I say it was life changing. Few things have strengthened my testimony more. And one of my resolutions is to attend the temple more. Thank you Pres. Nelson for your counsel and your love.”
