Bryce Jurgys's father always encouraged those around him to reach beyond what they thought they were capable of.
And one of those ways was a climb to the top of Mount Borah, Idaho's tallest peak, when Jurgy was 9 years old.
"I didn't realize what I was in for," Jurgy, a Latter-day Saint YouTuber, says as he remembers the climb.
About halfway up the peak, which reaches an elevation of 12,662 feet, Jurgy began experiencing elevation sickness. Though he says he felt miserable, with his father's help, Jurgy was able to reach the top.
"It was one of the most moving experiences of my life at that point, and I remember I referred to that for years," Jurgy says. "It helped me realize that I can do hard things."
Though Jurgy's father can no longer make the climb up to Mount Borah, Jurgy decided to give him an epic Father's Day surprise to show him how grateful he was for that childhood milestone.
