Watch: ‘American Idol’ winner’s soul-stirring rendition of ‘Silent Night’

In 2023, Latter-day Saint William (Iam) Tongi made history as the first Pacific Islander to win American Idol. Since then, the 20-year-old has lent his soulful voice to projects rooted in joy and light, including a new music video rendition of “Silent Night” with the Rexburg Children’s Choir.

“What I want people to take from my music is just positivity,” Iam says.

The Christmas music video features a choir of 100 children, and their earnest expressions and clear voices beautifully blend with Iam’s gentle, raspy tones and warm vocal timbre.
