As the director for season three of the soon-to-be-released Book of Mormon videos, Adam Anderegg knows a thing or two about what it's like watching the scriptures come to life.
"I sit and watch the director's screen as I'm directing the scene and I'm thinking to myself, 'I'm so grateful I'm seeing this,'" Anderegg says. "I've read the book, many times, but just to see it come to life is awesome and I think people all over the world are going to respond to that."

Though the debut of the first of Book of Mormon videos is September 20, film crews and actors are nearing the end of filming season three.
“Season one was really exciting because we shot the story of Nephi and Lehi’s journey through the wilderness. In season two, we were able to capture a lot of really great doctrines and teachings," says senior producer Aaron Merrell, according to the Church's newsroom. "[For season three] it’s the best of both worlds. It’s packaged around beautiful stories about people living the principles of the gospel.”
Though told in a cinematic format, the videos are not meant to be a dramatization of the Book of Mormon. Rather, they are meant to help people see "what's in the book," Anderegg says.
