On March 25, 2020, the First Presidency announced that all temples would close at the end of the day. Now, temples have begun a phased reopening, with the first temples entering Phase 2 on Monday, July 27, 2020, allowing all living ordinances.

I’ve always been struck with how generous the Lord is with His knowledge—if we seek it. There’s not a better time in any of our lives to “grow into the principle of revelation”1 than when we are desperate to know the answer to a question that has great implications and ramifications for our lives. Questions such as: “Should I marry this person?” “Should I move?” “Should I pursue my education?” “Should I take this job?” Why would we ever settle for the best answers that the world can give us when the Lord stands ready to open the heavens to teach us, mentor us, and speak to us through the whisperings of the Spirit? Personal revelation is something we each want and need.

During their Latin American ministry tour, President and Sister Nelson sat down with the Church News in a video that gives insight into their marriage and how God's laws work.

The greatest hero of women is the Savior Jesus Christ, said Sister Wendy Nelson during an interview with an Italian newspaper correspondent on March 11.

"I am a witness by being present, and I am a witness by being absent, that the Lord indeed instructs His prophet," Sister Wendy Nelson begins in the Church video "My Witness: Sister Wendy Watson Nelson."

One of our hymns teaches us that “angels above us are silent notes taking” of each one of our actions. I’m sure that is true. And when we keep our covenants, they are doing so much more.

“He's not afraid to do something different," Sister Nelson says of President Nelson. “He is saying, ‘What really is needful?’ If we're really preparing the Church and the world for the Second Coming of the Savior, he is sincere about that. He doesn't want us spending money, time, energy on anything that isn't really focused on that.”

President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his wife, Wendy, along with Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Lesa, will embark on a ministry tour to South America, culminating with the dedication of the Concepción Chile Temple, in October. The senior leaders of the global faith are scheduled to leave Salt Lake City and meet with Latter-day Saints in five countries in nine days October 19–28, 2018. President Nelson has previously ministered in these countries numerous times.

Choosing an eternal companion is one of the most important decisions to make in this life. However, people fall in love and find their eternal companions in many different ways. Even our beloved prophet and apostles experienced times when they had butterflies in their stomachs and unrestful nights thinking about their significant others. Here are the stories of how our prophet and apostles found their eternal companions.

“My dear extraordinary youth, you were sent to earth at this precise time — this most crucial time in the history of the world — to help gather Israel,” President Nelson said at a special youth devotional. “There is nothing happening on this earth right now that is more important than that. . . . This is the mission for which you were sent to earth.”

We know the First Presidency and apostles sacrifice much to serve the Lord and members around the world, but sometimes we fail to recognize the women who travel with them, stand beside them, and sacrifice just as much for our Church. Learn a little more about the wives of the apostles.
