Three BYU alumni took the Super Bowl field last night in Miami, and social media posts certainly celebrated the BYU connections.
The Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV on Sunday, February 2. BYU ties to the Chiefs include head coach, Andy Reid, and safety Daniel Sorensen. San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner also played for BYU.
After the Kansas City Chiefs won, Reid sat down with ESPN analysts, including Steve Young. Reid motions to Young in his responses and says, "How 'bout the Cougs? What a shoutout to them with 'Dirty Dan' playing for us. It's beautiful."
Young later replies, "[Reid] taught me everything I know about quarterback."

In the 54th Super Bowl, jersey number 54 and BYU alum Fred Warner intercepted a Patrick Mahomes pass.

Some big names also congratulated Reid on the win, including basketball player Magic Johnson and former Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl champion, Michael Irvin. Reid waited 21 seasons to win his first Super Bowl title, the longest of any head coach in NFL history according to SportsCenter.

Also causing a buzz on social media this weekend was BYU basketball player TJ Haws. After making a game-winning shot against St. Mary's, Haws rushed to the hospital for the birth of his first child, his son Tyson.
