Ever since the tape started rolling at BYUtv nearly 20 years ago, this non-commercial television network has kept a laser-like focus on their mission statement “to be the family entertainment brand that young people want, parents trust, and families enjoy together.” And through nationally renowned shows like Studio C, Dwight in Shining Armor, and Relative Race they have certainly done just that.

Now the company looks to expand its already robust repertoire with a new boost to Sunday programming. The point? Like always, to help families grow closer together.
With changes to the structure of Sunday church meetings announced in the October 2018 General Conference, many families are hunting for new ways to broaden their Sabbath worship at home. BYUtv hopes to help by providing uplifting and inspiring content that families can engage with all day long.

Coming down the pipeline just in time for General Conference are two new shows to help families make the most of their time together—Artful and Grace Notes.

Artful

Whether you’re a master with a brush or can barely sketch a recognizable stick figure, you know how to recognize beautiful art when you see it. Artful explores the stories of the artists behind the spiritually powerful pieces that move us so and asks the question, “What connects art with the divine?” Against a backdrop of paintings, sculptures, and more, this series show stories of challenge, failure, inspiration, and success.

Grace Notes

Few things in life can draw the soul higher than a stirring piece of music, and Grace Notes aims to inspire viewers by highlighting the variety, diversity, and quality of uplifting music in our world. Each half-hour episode features interviews with talented musicians and showcases their faith-promoting songs. Come hear some familiar songs and fall in love with those that are new.
Though these shows will air in April, BYUtv has plenty of family-centered content available right now, including a show that talks nothing but families.

Family Rules

Family Rules, which began airing in October, answers the world’s wish for a how-to video on family by taking TV deep into the heart of what makes healthy families tick. Delve into other families’ perspectives on topics like budgeting or technology and take away some ideas to try in your own home.

You can learn more about all of these shows at byutv.org.
