The Church’s newest temple can be found in Yigo, Guam, a U.S. territory in the western Pacific Ocean. The newly completed temple opened its doors to the public this week, and the Church released the first photos of the temple’s interior.
The public open house for the new temple in Guam will be held Wednesday, May 4 through Saturday, May 14 (closed Sundays). The 6,900-square-foot temple was built on six acres of land and will serve 9,600 members of the Church in Guam and the islands of Micronesia.
The Yigo Guam Temple will be dedicated on Sunday, May 22, 2022 with a youth devotional with Elder David A. Bednar on Saturday, May 21. Both the dedication and devotional will be broadcast to all the other islands as well.
Because of COVID-19 pandemic-related travel restrictions, the open house experience is being taken to other Micronesian islands in a what the Church’s Guam Newsroom is calling “the first-ever traveling open house.”
