President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced 17 new temples during the concluding session of the October 2024 general conference.

Latter-day Saints consider each temple to be a house of the Lord and the most sacred places of worship on the earth. The primary purpose of temples is for faithful members of the Church to receive peace, inspiration, and spiritual power as they enter into sacred agreements with God in His holy house.
