In continuation of the #HearHim video series, Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles testified that in a time of social isolation, we are not, and couldn’t ever be, isolated from the Savior.
“During this period of social distancing and COVID-19, I have felt the Savior beckon, ‘I see you. I know you. I love you.’ When you truly know that He sees you, He knows you, and He loves you, you can understand that you are not isolated,” Elder Gong wrote in an article released with the video.
Elder Gong said he has taken time recently to study instances in the scriptures when people have felt lost, including the parables of the lost coin, the prodigal son, and the lost sheep in Luke 15.
“The scriptures have taught me that I am never truly lost, because the Father’s Son was dead and is alive again. No matter where I am, I can be found by Him,” wrote Elder Gong.
In the #HearHim video, Elder Gong says that one way he feels found by the Savior is through serving others.
“We feel Him in a different way as we pray to help those around us—because that’s one of the prayers that He most wants to answer,” said Elder Gong. “I think as we have the privilege to reach one on one with each other, we can feel the Lord’s love for us, one by one.”
