Whether he’s living in the Shire, exploring a pirate cave, fighting a demogorgon, or playing football for Notre Dame, the characters most commonly played by actor Sean Astin all have one thing in common: they have heart. As an extension of his distinguished acting career, Astin’s personal motto has become, “People will root for anyone who shows them their heart.”
Astin will be bringing that optimism to the RootsTech stage next month as one of the 2023 keynote speakers. Astin will present on how unity has continued to be a theme throughout his career and family life. His message will also focus on how uniting may look different for everyone, but how, in spite of those differences, unity can help you heal relationships and find who you truly are. Astin’s keynote address will take place at RootsTech on Saturday, March 4, 2023. It will be available in-person in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, and online at RootsTech.org.
According to his bio on FamilySearch.org, Astin is an actor, director, producer, runner, activist, writer, husband, and father. Astin has become well-loved for his compassionate and genuine personality. For over four decades, he has accrued over 160 acting credits and has captivated fans with roles that emphasize his good heart, hope, and loyalty.
