Editor’s note: “This week from the pulpit” highlights recent messages by General Authorities, General Officers, and leaders of the Church.
Last weekend, leaders from the Church shared inspiring messages at the October 2020 general conference. Following their remarks, many leaders’ thoughts were shared on social media, highlighting key takeaways from their talks as well as additional insights. It is our hope that their messages on social media will assist you as you begin reviewing and studying the messages from conference, which are now available to read and watch online.

President Russell M. Nelson
Earlier this week, President Nelson’s Facebook page featured the prophet’s four talks he gave during conference. His posts summarized how the work of the Lord is moving forward, the importance of preparation, embracing a “new normal”—including increased devotion to the Savior—and what it means to let God prevail. He also encouraged everyone to “make a list of all that the Lord has promised He will do for covenant Israel.”

President Dallin H. Oaks
Two messages regarding the importance of loving our enemies and choosing to be of good cheer were posted on President Oaks’s Facebook page this past week. In both posts, President Oaks highlighted the importance of trusting in the Savior and overcoming adversity with His help. He testified, “He knows of your wants, your needs, and your fears. The Lord is all powerful. Trust Him.”

President Henry B. Eyring
Like President Oaks, two messages from President Eyring were shared on Facebook this week. In one post, President Eyring testified of the spiritual capacity of daughters of God. He also emphasized the love of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in his other message. “They want you to return to Them and become like Them. Your success is Their success,” he stated.
