In an effort to increase love and understanding for Mormons who experience same-sex attraction, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints launched a new website, Mormonsandgays.org. It features videos of real-life experiences from those who either have same-sex attraction or are close to someone who does, and counsel from several church leaders.
“As a church, nobody should be more loving and compassionate,” Elder Quentin L. Cook said in a video on the website. “Let us be at the forefront in terms of expressing love, compassion and outreach. Let’s not have families exclude or be disrespectful of those who choose a different lifestyle as a result of their feelings about their own gender.”
