The day after their bishop died, members of a ward in Veyo, Utah, gathered together to remember this wonderful man as they met for sacrament meeting.
Darrin Steve Ivie, who was serving as the bishop of a ward in Veyo, was killed Saturday morning near St. George when his car drifted over the center line on state Route 18 and hit a semi truck head-on.
"What am I going to do?" Nathan's oldest son told KUTV in an interview. "If you could put together a perfect father and man . . . and how he took care of us. . . . It's going to be very hard to amount to him and everybody he touched. We can all try to live up to the kind of person he was and serve others and spread that joy that he did."
On his Facebook page, Ivie put a picture of his family as his cover image, writing, "Together is the best place to be," showing his focus on family.
Following his death, friends and family posted beautiful tributes to Bishop Ivie on Facebook. Among them was a powerful video Ivie shared just a week before his death, one that Heather Hunt shared with this message, "Darrin, you have been such a noble man and good example. You will be sorely missed."
And many more were sure to share their love for Bishop Ivie and his family.
