On Tuesday morning, Governor Gary Herbert honored the K-9 Search and Rescue teams who helped find Annie Schmidt's body after she went missing while hiking in Oregon last October.
Jon Schmidt performed at the event to honor those who were instrumental in finding his daughter, and the performance was added to the Remembering Annie Schmidt Facebook page.
Shortly after her disappearance, Jon Schmidt told KATV News, "I cannot express enough gratitude to the volunteers and to the search and rescue, the sheriffs, and the police. It's incredible."
On the night Annie was found, Jon Schmidt posted to his Facebook page: "There is no way to thank our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ for the support we have felt through you. You have searched with us, prayed with us, hoped with us, fasted with us, supported us and sacrificed for us."
