Last year,LDS Living launched our own monthly book club where our readers canjoin us on Instagramto discuss meaningful books and participate in a live Q&A with authors at the end of every month. We've been amazed and humbled by the response we have received as well as the way these books and conversations have been shaping lives.
But now, we're trying something unprecedented. For April, we chose a book that not only offers inspiring thoughts but provides ways to help each of us draw closer to Christ during the three weeks leading up to Easter.
Easter is one of those holidays that can easily sneak up on us—one that can be difficult to make meaningful without making things feel forced. But Emily Belle Freeman's stunning book Closer to Christ, which combines her two best-selling books Becoming His and 21 Days Closer to Christ, helps readers focus on our Savior and invite His influence into the core of their being and life.
For this month, our book club will be focusing on the 21 Days Closer to Christ section of the book, which is an invitation to come closer to Christ through a 21-day journey. Each step of the journey introduces a new concept that will help you come to know and recognize the hand of the Lord in your life. With an emphasis on daily scripture study and personal prayer, each chapter concludes with an assignment designed to help you apply and personalize concepts such as humility, gratitude, and listening to the Spirit.
