What do flat earthers, Tupac, and the moon landing have in common? They were all recently featured in a skit that won over the judges on NBC's Bring the Funny.
JK! Studios, which features many of the original cast members from BYUtv's Studio C, won the praise of judges Jeff Foxworthy, Chrissy Teigen, and Kenan Thompson Tuesday night with a skit that combined kids television and conspiracy theories.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sketch group take on a kids’ show, which is awesome,” Foxworthy told the group. “Fabulous job, guys.”
“Your stage presence is amazing. The way you work the room is amazing,” Thompson said. “I thought it was great.”
“This is my life," Teigen added. "I watch BabyTV every day. . . .There’s just something about the awkwardness and the inappropriateness and the randomness that I really love and appreciate. I loved it.”
The skit was enough to send the comedians onto the second round of the show, where they will compete against six other groups.
About the performance, Jeremy Warner told the Daily Herald, "It was crazy just to hear Jeff Foxworthy say that we made him laugh. He didn’t tell us we might be rednecks though, which, I was a little sad."
Way to go for JK! Studios, who are proving that clean comedy is just as funny and relevant in today's world.
