Inside Edition Features LDS Mom Pregnant with Quintuplets (+ Look at Their Adorable Gender Reveal)

One in 55 million—that's the chances of a woman becoming pregnant with quintuplets, according to baby2see.com. And LDS mom Jamie Scott is the one.

After struggling for years with infertility, Jamie told Inside Edition she and her husband, Skyler Scott, were overjoyed to find out she was pregnant with the help of fertility medication. Though Jamie told South West News Service high hormone levels made her suspect she was pregnant with more than one baby, she had no idea she was pregnant with five until her first ultrasound.

"I just cried," Jamie told SWNS. "I was in awe. We had tried for quite some time so it was amazing that I even was pregnant."

Now, at 21 weeks, Jamie's latest ultrasound revealed the gender of her quintuplets—three girls and two boys—each about the size of a soda can.

For the remainder of her pregnancy, the St. George mom will stay in Pheonix, Arizona, where an expert in multiple births will deliver the babies. 

Though most quintuplet births occur around the 27-week mark, Jamie's doctor is shooting for about 33 weeks with a planned c-section in April. But until then, Jamie is on a diet that consists of 4,000 calories a day with doctors recommending she gain 100 pounds before giving birth, according to Inside Edition. 

"I'm kind of the food police," Skyler told good4utah.com. "I'm the one trying to give her a milkshake with every meal, trying to make sure she is eating snacks in between meals. Often poor Jamie will start to eat, and tell me how hungry she is, but she's too full to keep eating. But 4,000 calories a day is not easy."

“It’s also difficult to sleep because my stomach is growing so fast and it’s pretty painful,” Jamie told SWNS. “When one of the babies moves, they all move — it’s like a party in there.”

But the couple and their two other children remain optimistic about the pregnancy. "I’m just really looking forward to bringing home five healthy, chubby babies,” Jamie told SWNS.
