Honduras’ second temple will be dedicated later this year

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the open house and dedication dates for the San Pedro Sula Honduras Temple.

A public open house will be held Thursday, September 12, through Saturday, September 28, 2024, excluding Sundays. A media day will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, and invited guests will tour the temple on Tuesday, September 10, and Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will preside at the dedication on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Two sessions will be held at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Central Daylight Time. The dedicatory sessions will be broadcast to all units in the San Pedro Sula Honduras Temple district. More details will be announced later.

The San Pedro Sula Honduras Temple was announced during the closing session of general conference in April 2019 by Church President Russell M. Nelson. Eight new temples were announced along with renovation plans for pioneer-era temples in Manti, Salt Lake, and St. George, Utah.
