With individuals and families holding church and Come, Follow Me at home these days, some might be looking for all the help they can get when it comes to engaging their little ones for Primary. And what better to encourage participation than Singing Time?
Recently, many Latter-day Saints have been sharing Singing Time videos online. Among them is Brandon Osmond, son of Donny Osmond.
Brandon Osmond—known as “Brother Brandon” in these YouTube videos— starts recording his Singing Time videos in his everyday clothes. In the first episode while talking about the changes children have been experiencing lately due to the coronavirus, Brandon then pauses the video and shows up again in his church clothes.
“Have you guys ever tied a tie before?” he asks, while tying his tie. “I feel kind of like Mr. Rogers today. Have you guys ever watched Mr. Rogers? Let’s see if I did a good job with this tie.”
Although the front of the tie ended up being a little short, Brandon doesn’t mind and buttons his coat to hide it. Throughout the first episode, he incorporates singing time with songs such as “I Am Like a Star,” “Thankful,” and “Popcorn Popping” interspersed with a "field trip" outside and spiritual lessons.
“When you know something to be true, you know something to be right, you can stand up for it,” he says. “You can do the right thing. You can say the right thing.”
