Thought
“I stand in wonder at the heavenly visitation and the grand visions of eternity God bestowed upon Joseph Smith. And in particular, my heart is filled with overwhelming gratitude for the restoration of priesthood authority and priesthood keys. Without this restoration, we would be locked out from the vehicle necessary to transport us on our journey home to loving heavenly parents. The performance of every ordinance of salvation comprising our covenant pathway back to the presence of our Father in Heaven requires appropriate governance through priesthood keys.”

Scripture
“And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.
So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee” (Hebrews 5:4-5).
Lesson
Ask family members if they have ever played a game where they pretended to be a policeman, a judge, or a fireman. Ask:
What would happen if someone actually impersonated a police officer, a military officer, or a judge? Why would it be wrong or even dangerous for us to impersonate one of these people? What is the difference between a real police officer and someone who just pretends to be? (Authority.)
Read together Hebrews 5:1, 4 and ask:
What did the Apostle Paul say about how a man must get the priesthood? How did Aaron receive the priesthood? (Footnote 4c; see Exodus 28:1.) How did Moses know Aaron should receive the priesthood? (By revelation.)
Invite family members to share experiences when priesthood authority blessed their lives.
