The Church recently announced the 2018 Mutual theme: Peace in Christ. This theme comes from Doctrine and Covenants 19:23:
“Learn of me, and listen to my words; walk in the meekness of my Spirit, and you shall have peace in me.”
This theme, which will be the focus not only of classes but of youth camps and activities, will help young men and young women come closer to Christ, the Prince of Peace.
The 2018 Mutual theme resources will be available online at youth.lds.org later this year in Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish, according to LDS Media Talk.
This theme works beautifully with the Church's Easter campaign this year, which was Prince of Peace and included several videos that demonstrate how Latter-day Saints find peace in their Redeemer.
The 2017 Mutual theme is Ask of God, based on James 1:5–6, the scriptures that inspired Joseph Smith to enter the sacred grove to pray to Heavenly Father: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.”
