For anyone who submits tithing and fast offering donations online, some of the donation categories and options may look a little different now.
When logging on to the Donations page on the Church’s website, users are now presented with a message explaining changes to donation categories and options.

The new changes include the following:
- A new donation category called “General Offerings” will replace “Book of Mormon,” “Temple Construction,” “Perpetual Education,” and other discontinued categories.
- The “Other” category will be renamed “Local.”
- The “Authorized Member-Financed Activities” category will be discontinued.
The statement says that consolidating categories will “simplify the donation process” and “will allow members to contribute to a general donation category that will be used under prophetic direction to meet a variety of ever-changing needs as they emerge.”
A letter sent to stake, mission, and district presidencies; bishoprics; branch presidencies; and stake and ward clerks on June 10 additionally states that the changes will help “streamline the recording of donations by ward clerks.”
