After Creating Song for Parents Who've Lost a Child, LDS Artist Loses Baby Girl

In October 2015, LDS artist Sarah Bertola created a beautiful tribute to parents and family members who have lost little children, one that shared her testimony that those families would see their little angels again.

The inspiration for the song came earlier that same year when Bertola's niece was born with a chromosomal defect. Though Margot lived only a short time, Bertola was able to write the song "Until Heaven," something she would sing to her niece often during the last week of the baby girl's life.

At the time, Bertola didn't realize she'd also written this song for herself.

"Our little baby Alice was only five months old when she unexpectedly passed away in her sleep," the Bertola family wrote on a Go Fund Me page. "She was such a happy, wide-eyed little girl with a sweet, observant way about her. Our hearts ache so deeply to lose her."

The post continues, "Sarah's song 'Until Heaven' has become unforeseeably personal to her and her husband Dallas, and articulates a measure of the pain that we are experiencing right now."
