With Christmas under two weeks away, Latter-day Saint musicians are bringing the Christmas spirit to YouTube. From houselights synced to carols to the opening of Light the World giving machines, these videos will get you in the mood for the upcoming holiday.
“The Christmas Song” by David Archuleta
David Archuleta, who is also the voice behind the 2020 youth theme song, “Go and Do,” released a version of “The Christmas Song” that includes holiday home videos from his fans.
“Joy to the World” by BYU Vocal Point and the One Voice Children’s Choir
At the unveiling of the Light the World Giving Machines in Orem, Utah, BYU Vocal Point and the One Voice Children’s Choir performed “Joy to the World.”
“Let It Snow/Winter Wonderland” by The Piano Guys
The Piano Guys returned to the scene of their 2017 music video to sync houselights with the piano and cello. Their version of “Let It Snow/Winter Wonderland” incorporates the style of Michael Bublé, Sara Bareilles, and the Doobie Brothers, according to the YouTube video description.
“We Three Gentlemen” by Lindsey Stirling
Lindsey Stirling, known for dancing while playing the violin, released a video of “We Three Gentlemen,” which is a medley of “We Three Kings of Orient Are” and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.”
“Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” by Claire Crosby
At 7 years old, Claire Crosby is joined by her mother, Ashley Crosby, to perform “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.” Last year, Crosby performed “The First Noel.”
“Carol of the Bells” by Richard Elliott and the Bells on Temple Square
The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square released a video from last year’s “Angels Among Us” concert of a performance of “Carol of the Bells.” In addition to Richard Elliott on the organ and the Bells on Temple Square, Kristin Chenoweth makes a special appearance during the carol.
Bonus: “Sleigh Ride” by The 5 Browns
The 5 Browns, a group of five Julliard-trained Latter-Day Saint siblings from Alpine, Utah, is known for their classical music and technical skill. This Christmas they performed a new five-piano version of an old favorite song, “Sleigh Ride.”
