As Latter-day Saints, we understand that modesty encompasses much more than what we wear. It is a way of being. It is a way of understanding our potential as children of Heavenly Parents in everyday moments. It is about taking care of the divine and heavenly gifts we receive. It is a way of life.

And while modesty might run counter to some of the world's trends, it does not mean that we neglect our appearance. If anything, it makes us more conscious of how we represent ourselves as members of the Church and children of God. As we strive to make our own modest fashion choices, it can sometimes be discouraging when we search store after store, feeling like fashion and our beliefs are growing further apart. But that is not necessarily the case.
This year's Academy Awards, Golden Globes, and Grammys had an unprecedented number of women choosing to wear dresses that don't expose lots of skin but are still fashionable and classy.
