After the great deluge in the book of Genesis, the Lord made a covenant with Noah that He would never again flood the earth. As a symbol of this promise, the Lord pointed to the rainbow. “This is the token of the covenant,” He said, “and I will remember” (Genesis 9:17).
Today, gazing upon the beautiful rainbow can be a reminder to each of us that God remembers and keeps His covenants. In temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we utilize symbolism to make similar and sacred covenants with the Lord—thus, looking upon the temple can have the same inspiring effect.
Occasionally, we get to see the beauty of temples and rainbows side by side. These 12 pictures should remind us all about the importance of covenants and the reality of our Creator’s love.
