The year 2022 was a historic one for temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with 35 new temple locations announced by President Russell M. Nelson—the most ever announced in a single year.
Those new 35 temples bring the total number of modern-day temples in operation, under renovation, under construction, or announced to a grand total of 300. The newly announced temples span the globe—with two in Africa, one in the Pacific, four in Asia, six in Mexico, thirteen in the United States, seven in South America, and two in Europe.
