14 Spectacular Mormon-Themed Christmas Displays

For 44 years, Primary Children's Hospital has been providing a "Gift of Love" to children with their annual Christmas fundraiser, the Festival of Trees.  This holiday festivity has quickly become a favorite tradition among many families, providing a way for people to see ornately decorated Christmas trees while supporting a good cause.  

From a four-wheeler and camping stove to mint-condition classic comic books and a replica Thor hammer signed by Chris Hemsworth, the donors went above and beyond to make this year's festival simply spectacular.  Over 700 families, organizations, and companies from all over Utah donated trees and gingerbread houses that were displayed and sold the first week of December.  Every cent raised from the Festival of Trees went to support children at Primary Children's Hospital.  Since 1971, the festival has raised over $35 million, and last year alone, it raised $1,871,546.91.  

While it is impossible to cover all of the incredible trees and stories submitted to this year's Festival of Trees, we've compiled a few photos of some of this year's displays that exhibited a little extra Mormon flare.  

Accompanied by a stirring statue of the Nativity, this tree reminds us of the true reason for rejoicing during this holiday season.

It's incredible to see what masterpieces can be created from just a little sugar and spice--but don't forget the lights!  And what an uplifting title for this masterful culinary creation.

Notice the attention to detail--the tater tots on the fireplace and ornamenting the tree, the tetherball poll in the living room, and the family portraits on the mantle.  Someone obviously knows their Napoleon Dynamite.

Playing off both President Gordon B. Hinkley's Six B's and President Brigham Young's beehive imagery, this tree combines some of the oldest and newest teachings of prophets in this dispensation in not only a cute, but inspiring way.

Ornately decorated with poinsettias and evergreen boughs, this sweet model of the Manti Temple adds the perfect touch of Christmas spirit to an already deeply spiritual place. 

All Mormon's need the reminder that every member is a missionary.  This tree provides that reminder while celebrating the marvelous miracle of missionary work.

This tree not only helps to remind us to find the Christ in Christmas, it also provides a fun game of "I Spy," challenging observers to find a list of objects hidden in the tree. 

Aglow with a warm, inner light, this gingerbread rendition of the Salt Lake Temple reminds the Saints of the everlasting light and joy we can find in the Lord's holy house.

I love the sentiment behind this tree.  There are truly angels among us, working as the Lord's agents to strengthen and uplift us.  How can we become an angel to others during this holiday season?
