With wedding season right around the corner, we know that brides and grooms are busy getting ready for the big day! To help, we have compiled a list of our favorite wedding trends for 2016 that will also fit perfectly with any LDS wedding.
1. Glitter
Nothing is easier to match than neutral colors, and glitter can add sparkle to your wedding. Glitter is especially popular in wedding invitations this year, particularly on the inside of the envelope. Glitter can be a fun and whimsical accent for any wedding; you can even add a little subtle glam to your wedding makeup with just a touch of glitter.

3. Color of the Year
Pantone’s 2016 color of the year, Rose Quartz, is simple, feminine, and classic—perfect for your spring or summer wedding. 4. Mismatched Bridesmaid Dresses
Mismatched bridesmaid dresses are one of 2016’s hottest trends. Take your color scheme and allow your bridesmaids to choose their own dress so each girl can find a fit and color best for her. For example, airy pastels make dressing your bridesmaids easy—they can wear different colors still look coordinated in complementary shades of blue, green, pink and purple. You can also have them all wear the same color with different textures for a fun, unique look for each bridesmaid. Bonus: if you take this route, your bridesmaids also get a new dress that they can still wear to church long after your wedding is over.

5. Fun Florals
Flowers are a staple for any wedding, but this year brides are deciding against a traditional veil and going for a flower crown instead. Fresh flowers are a fun way to add natural beauty to your wedding, and will match perfectly with the beautiful greenery of the temple grounds for your photos.

6. Unfrosted Cakes
Unfrosted cakes first started hitting the wedding scene in 2013 and are still going strong! Instead of frosting the outside of the cake with fondant or buttercream, many brides are skipping the traditional frosting and increasing the filling between layers and leaving them exposed for a fresh and delectable creation. Add an extra special reminder of your day with a cake topper of the temple you were married in, or a romantic Willow Tree figure.

If you’re looking for something unique and fun for your summer wedding, try using parasols. They are a simple and elegant way to keep the sun out of your eyes and stay cool if you're taking pictures outside the temple after the ceremony (plus, you can get a lot of cool photos with them!).

11. Special Kids Table
Is it just us, or are there always more children at a Mormon wedding? Adding a kids table to your reception is a great way to keep your younger guests occupied and feeling included and let parents enjoy talking and eating. You can cover a table in paper and provide crayons so that the kids at your reception can color. You could also put out small toys such as Legos or some temple puzzles and games to make your reception fun for the whole family.

12. Unique LDS Touches
There are a lot of fun and creative ways you can show your faith at your wedding—everything from including the temple on your invitations to incorporating your Young Women medallion or missionary badge. You can also include some romantic scriptures in your wedding such as John 15:12, “Love one another as I have loved you.” You can also include the temple in the décor by adding a small temple statue to your centerpieces. 13. Use Social Media
Get your guests involved in sharing your wedding memories. A lot of couples are using social media as a digital supplement to their wedding photos. The photographer can’t be everywhere at once, so using social media sites such as Instagram can help you capture moments that otherwise might have been missed. Create a personalized hashtag for your wedding and let your guests have fun capturing the big day.
