LDS Church President Thomas S. Monson has called Latter-day Saints "a temple-building and a temple-attending people."
This year, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints around the world will begin attending several new temples and celebrate construction milestones for others.
This list is a look at the five temples that will be dedicated, the two that will be rededicated and four that have groundbreakings in 2015.
Tijuana Mexico
The Tijuana Mexico Temple will be dedicated Dec. 13, 2015, according to mormonnewsroom.org. The temple open house will be held from Nov. 13-28, 2015, and the cultural celebration will take place Dec. 12, 2015.
On Oct. 2, 2010, President Thomas S. Monson announced plans to build the Tijuana Temple.
Ground was broken on the site on Aug. 18, 2012, and the Angel Moroni was put in place on April 15, 2014.
The Tijuana Temple will be the 13th in Mexico.
Indianapolis Indiana
The Indianapolis Temple will be dedicated on Aug. 23, 2015. The open house will be held from July 17 to Aug. 8, 2015. The cultural celebration will take place Aug. 22, 2015, according to MormonNewsroom.org.
Elder Donald L. Hallstrom of the Presidency of the Seventy presided over the groundbreaking ceremony in September 2012.
The Indianapolis Temple will be the first in Indiana.
Córdoba Argentina
The Córdoba Argentina Temple was dedicated by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf on May 17, 2015. The open house was held from April 17 to May 2, 2015. The cultural celebration took place on May 16, 2015.
The Córdoba Argentina Temple was announced Oct. 4, 2008.
Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles presided over the groundbreaking of the temple site on Oct. 30, 2010.
