The First Presidency recently invited us to prepare for Easter by studying the teachings of Jesus Christ. We’ve created this simple study guide to help you do just that!
Revisit this page each day to read brief summaries of the events in Christ’s life, along with a quick 10-minute devotional to keep the Savior on your family’s mind and heart.
Monday, April 14
On this day: Christ visits the temple. He cleanses His Father’s house by commanding the merchants and moneychangers to leave the temple.
The temple is literally the Lord’s house—and He invites us to come and feel at home with Him there. Read the first chapter of Melinda Wheelwright Brown’s new book, An Endowment of Love. This chapter will help you feel more at home the next time you worship in the temple.

On this day: Jesus teaches in parables on the Mount of Olives. He talks about His Second Coming and emphasizes the need for preparation.
What is one small thing you could do today to prepare spiritually for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ?
You may find ideas in this article:

Also, consider rereading President Russell M. Nelson’s conference talk “The Lord Jesus Christ Will Come Again.”
Wednesday, April 16
On this day: We don’t have records of what Christ did on this day, but we know He would have continued to show His love to others. Even knowing He would soon be betrayed and killed, Christ still would’ve shown compassion.
Take a moment to ponder the compassion portrayed in this beautiful painting of the Savior by Paige Payne. How would it feel to be embraced by the Savior in your moments of fear or betrayal? Read more about the painting here.

Thursday, April 17
On this day: Jesus and His disciples celebrate the sacred holiday of Passover, and Christ institutes the sacrament. Later, He goes with a few of His Apostles to the Garden of Gethsemane, where He begins the process of taking upon Himself all the pains and sins of the world.
President Nelson taught, “His incomprehensible suffering in Gethsemane and on Calvary was for you! His infinite Atonement is for you!” Let that truth sink in by taking a few minutes to listen to the song Gethsemane performed by a children’s choir.
Friday, April 18
On this day: Jesus is unfairly tried in various courts and sentenced to death by crucifixion. On the cross, He completes His infinite Atonement for all God’s children, saying, “It is finished,” with His final dying breath.
The Savior’s Atonement brings infinite blessings into our lives. Do you know what those blessings are and how to seek them? Read this portion of a chapter from Tad R. Callister’s profound book The Infinite Atonement and learn how the Savior, because of His great sacrifice, can help you find peace of mind:

Saturday, April 19
On this day: The Savior’s followers must have mourned His death. They would’ve felt anguish and fear over the unjust, tragic loss of someone they loved.
We, too, feel sorrow during our mortal journeys. And, like those ancient followers, we have the teachings of Christ to give us hope. Ponder what Elder Gerrit W. Gong has so eloquently written:
“So much of mortal life is disorderly, seemingly unjust and unfair. The natural, physical order of a fallen world, along with the consequences of human myopia, imperfection, callousness, selfishness, and greed, can lead to chronic hunger, disease, trauma, abuse, violence, exploitation, degrading treatment, and challenging circumstances.
“Jesus Christ promises not simply to restore what was, but what should be. Through His every good gift and grace, we can look forward to the restoration and restitution of what a loving, almighty God would wish us to have.”
Read an inspiring story told by Elder Gong in his book The Shepherd and the Lamb about a man who found peace through Christ after watching his classmates be thrown into a river to drown:
Sunday, April 20
On this day: The Savior is resurrected! He appears to His faithful follower Mary Magdalene, and the pain she felt is replaced by a joy so deep it compels her to run to go and tell others that the Savior is alive again.
Take a moment to ponder the four following pieces of art inspired by Christ’s Resurrection. As you look at them, consider: What is possible for you because Christ was resurrected?
