Speaking with MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts, Newsweek Washington reporter Michelle Cottle explains The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ (Mormon) political neutrality stance.“One of [the Church’s] key messages is that it’s not political and it’s not partisan,” Cottle says, “so it’s doing a lot of outreach to the public and to journalists in particular trying to get across the message.”
