Father: Andrew "H" Gibbons

My Dad served two times in the army. His unit had just crossed the Rhine into German when WW1 ended. He is in the center of the second row from the top. I think it was taken in the early 1920s.

He was born in 1898. I was born in 1946 when he was 48 years old. He was a wonderful example and a good man. Holding a child or a grandchild often moved him to tears. I became a teacher because both he and my mother were teachers.

All his friends in his later life called him "H."
