Thoughts from Sunday School – Eliza on judging
June 10, 2012
source: Feminist Mormon Housewives
MR says: A great Sunday read. Thoughts on the hymn "Truth Reflects Upon Our Senses" by Eliza R. Snow.
Today in sacrament meeting I read hymn #273 “Truth Reflects Upon Our Senses,” by our feminist heroine and foremother Eliza R Snow. Along with being a gifted poet and force to be reckoned with, she is also a formidable theologian, and responsible for some of the most profound gospel teachings we have. This hymn touches me because it is the story of repentance. It is written in the first person, and instead of offering a testimony like “I believe in Christ” or “I know that my Redeemer lives,” it offers a confession.Read the rest of this story at feministmormonhousewives.org
