MR says: Do you think Mormons especially excel in business?

It seems a common tactic in the news media to pick successful Latter-day Saints and hold them up as examples of how the LDS faith is succeeding in the world at some profession or other.

This seems especially true of business reporting.

There are many successful Mormons and they make good workers. The committed Mormon is also committed to hard work and to taking care of the family. They strive to be honest in their dealings. They show up for work and don't miss a lot because they are fairly healthy. I always think that anyone who is really a good Mormon will succeed in life because we believe in an education and in hard work. We also are goal setting people and we learn at church. We are used to talking in front of people and we pray over our duties and our family and receive inspiration in our lives. Others can do the same as we are all God's children. The church is to help our families return to our Heavenly Father. We have many very successful families as well for many of the same reasons and our Family Home Evening, love for family and our work ethic. Children know the rules most of the time and they don't include alcohol, drugs or promiscuity. Sure, kids make mistakes but they can repent and start over and can, if they wish, get away from bad influences. They have parental support and hopefully discipline.
