MR says: This Florida preacher says the LDS Church is biased against blacks, Jews and American Indians.

A Florida pastor plans a news conference Monday to call on presidential candidate Mitt Romney to renounce his "racist" Mormon faith.

The Rev. O’Neal Dozier, senior pastor of The Worldwide Christian Center Church on Pompano Beach, Fla., says Democrats and President Barack Obama would use Romney’s "racist religion as a secret weapon" to attack the Republican in the general election.

As usual.. another ridiculous accusation coming from an UN-educated person... typically a clergyman.

i cannot help but laugh and growl at clergymen of other faiths. the falsehoods they learn, believe, spread have no ground to stand on. IF they truly know what our church stands for then they would NOT say these things. but alas satan has a hold of their minds and hearts. truly uneducated with the truth. this is one of the brick walls romney is running into...thanks to gingrich, santroum, paul, preachers, etc... there is NO racism in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for this is our Savior's church not mans church. men and women, skin color and nationality does not matter.

I try not to judge others. I love all people, and know there are good people everywhere. I know Dozier is a Santorum supporter. And, although he doesn’t seem to share my non-judging belief, this doesn’t mean Obama doesn’t. Still, if Obama does play race cards I think he would have a better hand against Santorum. The Catholic Church has called upon Santorum “…to stop perpetuating ugly racial stereotypes on the campaign trail.” And, a simple internet search shows that Santorum’s Church does struggle with racial issues today, Mitt’s Church has few issues. And, if Obama were to look at the past, the Mormons have a mere mote, compared to a giant beam in Santorum’s eye. The United Nations has determined that the racism of mainstream Christianity led to the enslavement and genocide of maybe a hundred million people. And, anti-Semitism was much more a mainstream Christian and Muslim thing, not LDS. Even Obama’s mostly white Congregationalist/UCC Church had more serious racial issues than Mitt’s Church. And, if he’s Muslim... , I'll just say there are some issues there also. Dozier has grossly misrepresented LDS teachings. There was some bigotry among Mormons, but the Book of Mormon teaches that all are alike, Black, white, Jew, etc. The Book of Mormon is about some Israelites (of Judah and Manasseh) who escaped Jerusalem before the destruction of the first Temple. It teaches that God still remembers His covenants with them. Whites and other gentiles are chided for their treatment of them, and gentile Mormons seek to be adopted with them. Most LDS are probably of Native American descent, and there are about half a million Black Mormons. My racially mixed family (Black, Native American, etc) feels more at home in the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS than anywhere else.

Dozier seems to read LDS scriptures from a 19th Century point of view. Oddly those dong so then condemn Brigham Young etc, for doing so, even though they actually lived in the 19th century, and were surrounded by mainstream Christians who were much more racist than they were. People don’t know that most Mormons are probably dark skinned and that ancient Book of Mormon people would not have understood our modern racism issues. If there WERE any racism in the Book it would be a dark skinned superiority over whites. White Europeans are called “gentiles” in the Book of Mormon and dark skinned Book of Mormon scribes imply that these white Europeans would need extra repentance, partially due to their lack of charity, and perhaps because of their mistreatment of Native Americans. The Lehites, who wrote the Book of Mormon, were all dark skinned, and were one race. They couldn’t be racist against themselves. They couldn't tell the difference between a Lamanite or Nephite except by language and perhaps dress. If anyone is a chosen people in the Book of Mormon it is the dark skinned Native Americans who are descended from Lehi, Joseph, and his Egyptian wife. Book of Mormon and other ancient dark skinned writers did use ancient symbolic language when describing religiosity, (one of many mountains of evidences that it is an ancient book.) For example the Indians who wrote the Rig-Veda (codified about 600BC) described themselves in terms similar to those used by Book of Mormon people. (See wiki “White Skins:” Anciently…“Religious conversion was described figuratively as a change in skin color. Similarly, the Rigveda uses krsna tvac "black skin" as a metaphor for irreligiosity.” “Assignment of positive and negative connotations of white and black date to the classical period…”

A mother of three great grandchildren of the mormon faith I feel that no one who as not read the Book of Mormon should be vocing his opinion on the Mormon faith , as they do not know what they are talking about. We welcome all into our faith. Santorum should be ashamed to go into a church and talk about anyones Faith.......We need to bring our Country back to us not fight about faith.

Sigh...If these African-American panelists are okay with how the Church handle the PH issue. Then all others outside the faith of any race should get over themselves. It was Black LDS who were due an apology, and they moved past such. A link at the end to the article. This goes back to 1998. This pastor needs to shut up and learn something for a change. http://www.lds-mormon.com/lds_race.shtml article:
