Spend this weekend with your family enjoying fall festivities that only come around once a year.
Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns. ~George EliotThe days are growing shorter and the air's becoming crisper--it's fall! It's the perfect weekend to go out and enjoy what few weeks we have left of autumn. Here are a few fun ideas you can do with your family or friends:
- Visit an apple orchard. Picking a bushel of apples is a fun way to participate in the fall harvest. A lot of orchards offer self-pick, or you can visit their store and buy a bushel of pre-picked apples and maybe even some delicious apple cider.
- Get lost in a corn maze.
- Create pumpkin extraordinares. We've all seen the pumpkins with carved faces, but try something new this year with your Halloween pumpkin display. Get creative and use non-traditional items to transform your pumpkins: glitter, paint, props, glue, fabric--use your imagination.
- Keep the vivacious colors of fall with you all year by preserving colorful leaves. Click here for instructions.
- Have a fall photo contest. See who can capture the essence of fall the best through the lens of a camera.
