Around the Block: Barnes and Noble
Everyday places good for filling a few hours. When looking for family entertainment, checking out your local Barnes and Noble may not be the first thing you think of. But in fact, most locations hold storytelling and children's events weekly.
The following Utah locations all have weekly events: S. State Murray location, Kid's Corner Storytime (Mondays, 11 a.m.) and Super Saturday (11 a.m.); Sandy, Bedtime Storytime (Fridays, 7 p.m.); Plaza Center, West Jordan location, Small Fry Storytime (Wednesday, 11 a.m.); Midvale, Pajama Party Storytime (Thursdays, 7 p.m.) and Greatest Storytime in Town (Saturdays, 1 p.m.); Orem, Spectacular Saturdays (1 p.m.); and St. George, Saturday Storytime (1 p.m.) This list is not exhaustive; there are more events at the previously-mentioned locations and at other unmentioned locations. (Go to bn.com and click on "Stores & Events," and type in your city to find out what upcoming events are featured.)
And during the entire week of April 20 through 26, Barnes and Noble stores will be hosting "Turnoff Week," designed to get kids away from computer and TV screens and into fun activities and books. Stores across the nation will be offering in-store activities like game nights, special performances, arts & crafts, scavenger hunts, and more.
